Savage by name, savage by nature....

Aaron Polson over at his blog 'The Other Aaron', set us all a challenge that had in turn been passed on to him.
I thought I would give it a go. It sounded like fun.

From a bookcase I've had to pick out one book whose author's last name starts with each letter of my own last name. (If there are no books by an author whose last name starts with a particular letter, go to the next letter.) I haven't been allowed to use the same author twice.
Then I've had to post the first sentence of each book, along with author's name and the book title.

Didn't work to well with the name Savage; I had no A V or E authors!!

So....

S ~ What was the worst thing you've ever done? I won't tell you that, but I'll tell you the worst thing that ever happened to me...the most dreadful thing...
Ghost Story by Peter Straub

A(B) ~ It was morning, and the new sun sparkled gold across the ripples of a gentle sea.
Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach

V(W) ~ Read a book with a baby, why do that?
How To Help Your Child To Read And Write by Dr Dominic Wyse

A(B) ~ Robert Langdon awoke slowly.
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

G ~ The night before he went to London, Richard Mayhew was not enjoying himself.
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

E(F) ~ What I warn you to remember is that I am a detective.
In The Woods by Tana French.

Over to you......

I loved 'Ghost Story' by Straub. And of course 'The DaVinci Code' as well. I think our large version with pictures is great.

Alan~ I have the big book copies of The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons; I love all the pictures and photos. His new book hits the shelves here next week. I think it's called Skeleton Key...but I may have that wrong.

Jarmara~ technically Savage is not my real surname but my bloggy surname!...although Savage was my maternal grandma's maiden name, so I have kept it in the famuily!
